Loganville City Council voted 4-1 to formally censure Councilwoman Patti Wolfe after she posted confidential details from an executive session on social media.
The resolution, led by Councilwoman Anne Huntsinger, accused Wolfe of disclosing sensitive city business and sharing inaccurate information about a possible lawsuit challenging Walton County’s property valuations.
Wolfe did not attend the meeting and cited legal advice to stay silent.
Her social media post referenced a council discussion about potential legal action stemming from concerns that large local properties were undervalued, which may unfairly increase taxes for homeowners and small businesses.
Mayor Skip Baliles and others said Wolfe’s disclosure upset leaders from neighboring cities and misrepresented city intentions, while Councilwoman Melanie Long, the only dissenting vote, argued the council was inconsistent and risked setting a dangerous precedent.
The censure, though symbolic, highlights mounting tensions over Loganville’s response to local tax equity concerns. Read More... |
