"Supporting local businesses isn't just about making a purchase, it's about making a difference in your community." |
A memorial honoring Charlie Kirk in Loganville turned controversial last week after it was defaced with graffiti accusing Kirk of racism.
The tribute, displayed on the Tire Dock shop’s sign along Highway 78 following Kirk’s assassination in Utah, was spray-painted overnight with the phrase “RACIST” and an obscene acronym.
Police quickly identified and arrested Megan Phyllis Bucheger, 19, of Snellville, now facing a criminal trespass charge.
Officers restored the sign with assistance from city and county officials, while community outrage over the act spread across social media.
Loganville Police Chief Dick Lowry emphasized that hate has no place locally, but also stressed Bucheger’s presumed innocence as legal proceedings unfold.
The vandalism highlights the deep political tensions following Kirk’s polarizing death, yet many residents remain focused on honoring his memory and maintaining community dignity. Read More... |
