The Loganville Rotary Club’s Kurt Hansen Foundation has donated $40,000 to The Friends of the O’Kelley Memorial Library, marking one of the largest gifts for the construction of the new library in downtown Loganville.
The donation was announced at the Rotary’s weekly meeting, energizing the effort to create a much-needed modern library facility for the community.
Set on Main Street, the new O’Kelley Memorial Library will offer advanced technology, expanded spaces for children and teens, meeting rooms, a makerspace, and outdoor areas—transforming it into a vibrant hub for local learning and activities.
One of the rooms will be dedicated in honor of Kurt Hansen and the Rotary Club, celebrating their dedication to education and service.
Kurt’s wife, Sharon Hansen, shared heartfelt words of gratitude, connecting the project to Kurt’s legacy of community investment.

Monroe’s 7th Annual Battle of the Burgers returns downtown on Saturday, October 25, 2025, inviting locals for an afternoon packed with flavor and fun competition.
Top restaurants and grill masters from across Walton County will go spatula to spatula, each vying for the coveted title of Best Burger in Walton County.
Attendees can taste every burger and vote for their favorite, making it a must-attend culinary showdown.
Tickets are $30 and include samples from all competitors, a wine tasting, and two beer pours, plus live music throughout the event.
Only 350 tickets are available, so early purchase is encouraged.
The festivities run from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM on West Highland Avenue at the public park lot.
