Loganville residents are now under Georgiaās annual burn ban, in effect from May 1 to September 30, as summer temperatures and outdoor activities ramp up in Gwinnett and Walton counties.
This seasonal restriction, enforced by the Georgia Environmental Protection Division, prohibits burning yard debris, limbs, and land-clearing materials to help lower ozone pollution and protect air quality.
The ban is especially vital this year, with additional wildfire concerns in South Georgia causing temporary fire restrictions statewide.
Smoke from burning can worsen ground-level ozone, posing health risks for children, seniors, and anyone with respiratory issues.
Residents are encouraged to bag yard waste, use recycling services, or compost instead of burning.
Officials remind everyone to stay informed and take extra precautions, helping to keep Loganville safe and air clean throughout the summer. Read More... |
