Loganville Mayor Lee “Skip” Baliles has announced he will not seek re-election, closing a chapter marked by two decades of service to the community. After serving on the city council from 2012 to 2020 and then as mayor since 2021, Baliles reflected on his “great experience” in office but noted disappointment over some projects left unfinished.
Among his priorities were the new O’Kelly Memorial Library, downtown revitalization efforts, and ongoing road improvements. Baliles also raised concerns about the rise of misinformation on social media and stressed the need for the city to back upstanding candidates at every level of government.
He cited expanding public spaces and supporting first responders as key accomplishments. Baliles worked diligently to balance budgets and secure funding for the $5.7 million library project. As he prepares to step down, Baliles remains hopeful for Loganville’s future and thanked residents for their trust. Read More... |
The Loganville Rotary Club received special recognition during the July 10 City Council Meeting for its dedication and service to the community. Mayor Skip Baliles, who is also a Rotarian, led the ceremony, presenting the club with a formal Proclamation from the City of Loganville.
This honor highlighted the club's ongoing commitment to serving, uplifting, and uniting local residents. Rotarians Milton Johnson, Ron Drag, Nickolas Key, Dan Curry, and club president Ray Lane were among those recognized publicly during the meeting.
Mayor Baliles praised Rotary’s fundamental values, noting the group’s vital influence in Loganville. He emphasized how Rotarians foster integrity, provide service, and promote understanding and goodwill, making a lasting impact on the city through their leadership and fellowship. Read More... |
