Loganville’s own Stephen Kern, the beloved Special Needs bus driver and heavy metal artist, is making his film debut with an unpredictable, slapstick comedy shot right here in town.

Kern, alongside friend Jacy Henry, created and stars in a riotous story about a “manchild metalhead dork” on a wild quest to find his father, crossing paths with an eccentric cast and surprise cameos.

Guest appearances include Ronnie Platt of the band KANSAS, former Playboy Playmate Donna Perry, cult actor Eric Freeman, and faces from the heavy metal world.

Scenes were filmed at local spots like Allstar Music Center, Crazy Eddie’s Flea Market, and Vines Park, filling the movie with Loganville’s spirit and familiar faces.

Now picked up by Bayview Entertainment, the film streams on Plex TV starting August 26.

Expect TV-14-level goofiness and plenty of local pride.

Academic achievement is shining in Walton County as several students from Loganville, Monroe, and Good Hope were named to the Georgia Tech Faculty Honors list for Spring 2025.

These local scholars earned a perfect 4.0 GPA, joining a prestigious group recognized for their dedication and discipline.

Oluwasekunayomi Oshikanlu, Avery Smith, and Laney Smith from Loganville, along with Braylon Clower, Emily Hill, and Hayden Melton of Monroe, plus Presley Whitaker from Good Hope, achieved this esteemed honor.

The Faculty Honors distinction reflects both Georgia Tech’s high standards and the commitment of these students to academic excellence.

Georgia Tech continues to foster talent across Georgia, with these outstanding individuals making their communities proud through hard work and perseverance.
