Grayson High School’s own Anthony Davis Jr. announced his verbal commitment to the University of Mississippi, choosing the Rebels over top contenders like Alabama, Michigan, and Auburn.
The Loganville standout, standing 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, is recognized as a four-star prospect, ranked the No. 30 linebacker nationally and among Georgia’s best young talents.
Following official visits to Auburn, Ole Miss, Michigan, and Alabama, Davis found his fit in Oxford, declaring, “Natty on the way!” to highlight his championship expectations with Ole Miss.
His commitment gives the Rebels 16 verbal pledges for the 2026 recruiting class, boosting their defensive roster for future seasons.

Sarah Wellborn has been named the 2025 recipient of the esteemed Sara D. Hanes Scholarship by Piedmont Walton Hospital’s Auxiliary.
Wellborn, a Licensed Practical Nursing student at Athens Technical College, was selected from a competitive group to receive a $1,000 scholarship in support of her healthcare career ambitions.
Balancing full-time work with her studies, she has maintained a 4.0 GPA, earned induction to the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and secured a spot on the All-Georgia Academic Team.
Set to graduate in May 2026, Wellborn’s achievements highlight her commitment to excellence in nursing.
The Sara D. Hanes Scholarship, established in 2023 to honor the founder of Piedmont Walton Auxiliary, supports local students pursuing medical careers.
