Loganville Rotary’s 11th Annual Wing Fling Set for May 16

Registration is now open for sponsors, vendors, and wing cookers as one of Loganville’s tastiest family events returns

11th Annual Loganville Wing Fling, hosted by the Loganville Rotary Club, is set for Saturday, May 16, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and registration is now officially open for sponsors, vendors, and wing cookers.

This annual event has become a favorite for families across the greater Loganville area, bringing together incredible food, friendly competition, live entertainment, and activities for all ages. From wing lovers and backyard grill masters to local businesses and community supporters, the Wing Fling offers something for everyone.

At the heart of the event is the wing competition, where cooking teams and chicken wing enthusiasts will go head-to-head for bragging rights, trophies, and cash prizes. With bold sauces, secret recipes, and serious culinary creativity on display, tasters and judges will have the tough job of deciding which wings soar above the rest. Prize winnings include $500 for first place, $250 for second place, and $100 for third place.

For those who want to get in on the action, contestants can register in one of two ways: Wing Fling Contestant (Wings Provided) for $200 or Wing Fling Contestant (BYO Wings) for $100.

But Wing Fling is much more than just a wing showdown. The event is designed as a full family experience, complete with wing eating contests for men, women, and kids, a chicken dance contest, live music, kids games, and plenty of attractions to keep the energy high all afternoon. It’s the kind of event where nobody leaves hungry and kids leave happily worn out.

The Loganville Rotary is also inviting local businesses and organizations to become sponsors for this year’s event. Sponsorship opportunities range from Community Sponsor at $250 all the way up to the Presenting Sponsor at $5,000, offering businesses valuable exposure while supporting meaningful charitable work in Loganville and surrounding areas. Additional sponsorship levels include Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Ride Sponsor, and Wing Eating Contest Sponsor packages.

Vendors are also encouraged to reserve their space now. Exhibitor spots are available for $100, with an Early Bird rate of $75 valid through April 17. It’s a great opportunity for local businesses, artisans, and specialty vendors to connect with a large crowd of families, foodies, and community supporters.

The Loganville Rotary Club says the Wing Fling is all about food, fellowship, and fun, while also supporting important local charitable initiatives. It’s a chance for the community to come together, celebrate local flavor, and support a cause that gives back.

Anyone interested in becoming a sponsor, vendor, or wing cooker can register now at WingFling.org.

If you love great food, community spirit, and a little friendly competition, mark your calendar now. The 11th Annual Loganville Wing Fling is shaping up to be a can’t-miss event.

Piedmont Eastside Earns Reaccreditation for Bariatrics Program

Achievement demonstrates hospital’s continued commitment to safe bariatric surgery and long-term weight loss

Snellville, Ga. (April 2, 2026) – Piedmont Eastside Medical Center has received reaccreditation under the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP), a joint quality program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). The hospital first earned MBSAQIP accreditation in 2016, and the current accreditation extends through 2028.

MBSAQIP is a comprehensive, nationwide surgical quality program designed to ensure safe and effective metabolic and bariatric surgery. To earn reaccreditation, Piedmont Eastside’s bariatrics program met essential criteria for staffing, training and facility infrastructure as well as protocols for care. As part of the review, an experienced bariatric surgeon conducted an extensive site visit, assessing the program’s structure, processes and clinical outcomes data—including weight loss and treatment of obesity-related diseases like diabetes and sleep apnea.

“Our team is honored to once again receive MBSAQIP accreditation,” said Kenna Glick, RDN, LD, CDCES, bariatrics program coordinator at Piedmont Eastside. “The designation reflects our commitment to helping patients achieve sustainable, long-term weight loss through outstanding care.”

Piedmont Eastside’s bariatrics program includes four surgeons who provide medical and surgical weight-loss treatment options. The program also includes a nutrition clinic staffed by two registered dietitians who support patients with meal planning and lifestyle guidance. The team cares for about 150 patients each year.

Research shows that accredited centers experience lower complications and better outcomes than those of non-accredited facilities. Additionally, a recent study demonstrated that bariatric surgery results in greater total and sustained weight loss compared to weight loss options like GLP-1 agonists.

As an MBSAQIP-accredited hospital, Piedmont Eastside also continues the designation as an ACS Surgical Quality Partner. Being a Surgical Quality Partner signifies a hospital’s dedication to consistently improving procedures and approaches while maintaining a critical eye on process at every step.

“ACS Quality programs are grounded in more than a century of experience and participation is an important measure of a hospital’s surgical quality,” said ACS Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer Patricia L. Turner, MD, MBA, FACS. “As an ACS Surgical Quality Partner, Piedmont Eastside has shown a commitment to providing the best possible patient care, evaluating that care in a rigorous fashion and dedicating themselves to continuous self-improvement.”

Visit Bariatric Seminars at Piedmont Eastside to take the first step on your weight-loss journey. The site includes a convenient online seminar about bariatric surgery. After completing the seminar, a bariatrics program team member will contact you to schedule your first appointment.
