Loganville Gathers in Unity for National Day of Prayer |
On Thursday, May 1 at 11:00 AM, members of the Loganville community came together at the Rock Gym for a powerful and heartfelt observance of the National Day of Prayer. The annual event brought together local pastors, business owners, elected officials, and residents from all walks of life to lift their voices in unified prayer for the city, the nation, and those in need. Christians from across Loganville filled the room, joining in prayers for a wide range of people and causes—our elected officials, law enforcement, first responders, school children and teachers, the sick, and the spiritually lost. It was a moving expression of faith, unity, and shared hope. Local pastors from a variety of Christian denominations took turns leading the group in specific prayers, each one focused on a different area of concern—from government to healthcare, education to community safety, and the deep spiritual needs of the people. The atmosphere was one of reverence and unity, as hearts and voices were joined together in a common purpose: to seek guidance, healing, and strength through prayer. The event is part of a nationwide observance held annually on the first Thursday in May. Signed into law in 1952 and established as a fixed annual date in 1988, the National Day of Prayer serves as an invitation for all Americans to pause, reflect, and pray for the well-being of the country. As one attendee noted, “It’s incredible to see so many churches, leaders, and neighbors come together—not divided by differences, but united in prayer.” The Rock Gym was a fitting setting for the occasion—offering a central space where the community could gather in peace, put aside distractions, and focus on something greater than themselves. Events like this are a reminder of Loganville’s strong foundation of faith and community spirit—values that continue to shape and strengthen the city, year after year. |
Local Flavor: Suki Sushi & Asian Cuisine Delivers Big Taste, Beautiful Atmosphere, and Unbeatable Value |
Tucked along the busy stretch of Loganville’s dining scene is a culinary gem that blends the best of Japanese, Chinese, and broader Asian cuisine—Suki Sushi & Asian Cuisine. From the moment you step inside, it’s clear this isn’t your average takeout spot. With elegant decor, a clean and welcoming interior, and a warm, friendly staff, Suki offers a full sit-down dining experience that feels both modern and authentic. The menu at Suki is as diverse as it is delicious. Whether you're in the mood for fresh sushi, savory stir-fry, or something crispy and comforting, they’ve got you covered. During a recent visit, I tried their Sesame Chicken lunch combo—and it didn’t disappoint. The dish arrived piping hot with a perfectly crispy, sweet-and-savory coating on the chicken, served alongside a fluffy bed of white rice and a golden fried egg roll. It was a generous portion, full of flavor and freshness. The textures were spot on—tender chicken, crisp vegetables, and a lightly crunchy egg roll that held up beautifully without being greasy. What really stood out, though, was the value. With lunch specials priced lower than most fast food meals, Suki gives you a chance to enjoy a fresh, authentic Asian meal that’s affordable and satisfying. Many of their lunch combos include rice, an entrée, and an egg roll—all for under $10. In a time when drive-thru prices keep climbing, Suki’s lunch deals are a welcome alternative. But it’s not just about the food. The ambiance adds to the overall experience. The dining room is spacious and thoughtfully decorated, making it just as great for a casual lunch as it is for a relaxed dinner out. And the service? Friendly, attentive, and always smiling. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing takeout, the staff make you feel welcome and appreciated. Suki Sushi & Asian Cuisine proves that you don’t have to travel far—or spend a fortune—to enjoy great Asian food. It’s a local spot that’s well worth visiting, whether you’re a sushi lover, craving General Tso’s, or just want something better than another burger-and-fries combo. If you haven’t tried Suki yet, consider this your invitation. Your taste buds (and your wallet) will thank you. 🍱🥢 |
