Fresh, Local, and Delicious: Walton Schools Serve Georgia Grown Strawberries

On Wednesday, students across Walton County enjoyed a sweet and healthy treat as the School Nutrition team served up fresh Georgia Grown strawberries in school lunches. These juicy, locally sourced berries not only added a burst of flavor to the day’s meals but also highlighted the district’s commitment to supporting both student wellness and local agriculture.

By incorporating Georgia-grown produce into school menus, Walton County is helping students develop healthy eating habits while also boosting the local farming community. It’s a win-win that brings the best of our state’s harvest straight to the lunch table.

We're proud to see our schools leading the way with fresh, nutritious, and homegrown options for our kids!

Loganville Student Isabella Stroh Inducted into Prestigious Phi Kappa Phi Society

Isabella Stroh of Loganville, Georgia, has been recognized for her academic excellence with an invitation to join Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society. The induction ceremony took place at The University of Alabama, where Stroh’s achievements earned her a coveted spot among scholars dedicated to the pursuit of learning.

Phi Kappa Phi, founded in 1897 by undergraduate Marcus L. Urann, has a longstanding reputation for celebrating academic excellence across all disciplines. Each year, approximately 20,000 students, faculty members, professional staff, and alumni are initiated into the society. Membership is reserved for those who rank among the top 10 percent of seniors, 7.5 percent of juniors, and the best graduate candidates, alongside distinguished professionals in academia and related fields.

Stroh’s selection is a testament to her hard work and dedication. The invitation-only process requires careful nomination and approval by a Phi Kappa Phi chapter, ensuring that only the most exemplary candidates are inducted. Now a part of a community that spans over 300 campuses across the United States, its territories, and even the Philippines, Stroh joins a network committed to fostering a lifelong love of learning.

Her achievement not only highlights her individual success but also reinforces the broader mission of Phi Kappa Phi—to cultivate an environment where academic rigor and scholarly distinction are celebrated. As Stroh embarks on this new chapter, she stands as an inspiration to her peers in Loganville and beyond, embodying the values of dedication, excellence, and intellectual curiosity.
