After a long wait, Tequila Street Taqueria has finally opened its doors at 262 Main Street in Loganville—and my first visit left me excited to go back.

The restaurant is now welcoming guests during its soft opening, drawing positive early reactions and giving downtown another inviting place to gather for a meal. With beautiful murals, traditional Mexican décor and dining spaces spread across two levels, Tequila Street makes an impression before the food even arrives.

But the food is what will bring me back.

On a recent visit, I ordered tacos with beans and rice, and the meal was excellent. The tacos were the highlight, but the beans and rice deserve some appreciation, too. The entire plate made for a thoroughly enjoyable meal—the kind that leaves you telling friends they need to try this place.

The friendly service added to the experience. The people were welcoming, and that warmth fit perfectly with the restaurant’s inviting atmosphere. A beautiful building gets your attention, but great food and a welcoming team give you a reason to return. Tequila Street delivered on both during my visit.

There’s plenty to appreciate about the setting. The lower-level dining room offers a lovely place to settle in for a meal, while upstairs features another dining area and a bar. An outdoor balcony overlooks Main Street, giving diners a different perspective on downtown Loganville and adding something special to the experience.

Traditional Mexican décor and beautiful murals give the interior personality and make the restaurant feel like a destination in its own right. Whether you’re planning a casual lunch, dinner with family or an evening out with friends, the space is part of the appeal.

The menu offers plenty of reasons for repeat visits. Its Tequila Street taco entrées come with three tacos, cilantro and fresh onion, a choice of corn or flour tortillas, and sides of rice and beans. Options include asada, birria, carnitas, chorizo, pastor, pollo, pork belly and lengua. There are also Dirty Tacos featuring asada, chorizo and grilled onions.

The specialty taco selection branches out further. Quesa birria tacos feature slow-cooked brisket and melted cheese with consommé for dipping, while other choices include fish tacos, veggie tacos and chipotle tacos with steak, chicken or shrimp.

I can personally vouch for the taco meal I enjoyed. The rest of the menu gives me a growing list of things to try next.

Starters include street corn, yuca fries, pork belly guacamole and a trio dip combining guacamole, roasted salsa and cheese dip. Beyond tacos, diners can choose from enchiladas, burritos, quesadillas, tortas, fajitas and chicken and steak entrées.

Among the more substantial offerings is a molcajete with carne asada, chicken breast, shrimp, chorizo, queso fresco and green tomatillo salsa. Seafood fajitas include shrimp, fish and octopus, while the birria quesadilla pairs slow-cooked brisket and melted cheese with consommé.

There are options for diners with other cravings, too, including wings, a chicken sandwich and burgers. The menu even gives the hometown a nod with a Loganville Burger topped with bacon, a fried egg, avocado and American cheese, along with lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise.

Families will find a children’s menu, and anyone saving room for dessert can choose from churros, flan, tres leches and other sweets. Aguas frescas include horchata, jamaica and pepino.

For a restaurant still in its soft-opening stage, Tequila Street made a terrific first impression. The surroundings are beautiful, the people are friendly, and my tacos, beans and rice were absolutely worth the visit.

Loganville has been waiting to see this Main Street restaurant come to life. After sitting down for a meal, I’m happy to say it was worth the wait.
