LOGANVILLE, GA - The metro Atlanta skateboarding community is coming together to support the family of Keaton Schmidt, who tragically lost his life in a motorcycle crash on Highway 78 in Loganville on August 8, 2025.
According to the Gwinnett County Police Department, the accident occurred at the intersection of Athens Highway and Langley Road. Investigators report that Schmidt was traveling straight on Athens Highway when another vehicle attempted to turn left from Langley Road. Both drivers received medical attention, but Schmidt did not survive his injuries. The case remains under investigation by the Accident Investigation Unit.
In the wake of the tragedy, friends Kimberly Bradshaw and Summerlin O’Neill launched a GoFundMe campaign to help the family with unexpected expenses.
“Keaton had a heart of gold and was a huge influence in the Atlanta skateboarding community,” Bradshaw shared. “He touched so many lives and was truly an amazing person all around. He was always full of life, never met a stranger, and had endless love for his friends and family. He was also a talented mechanic and loved teaching younger kids how to skate in parks across Gwinnett and the Metro Atlanta area.”
The fundraiser continues to gain momentum as fellow skaters, friends, and community members spread the word to honor Schmidt’s memory and support his family.
