At the July 10th City Council Meeting, the Loganville Rotary Club was officially recognized for its outstanding service and contributions to the community. In a special presentation led by Mayor Skip Baliles—who is also a fellow Rotarian—the club was awarded a formal Proclamation from the City of Loganville, commending its ongoing efforts to serve, uplift, and unite the local community.
Rotarians in attendance included Milton Johnson, Ron Drag, Nickolas Key, Dan Curry, and Ray Lane, who currently serves as president of the club. The recognition took place during the public portion of the meeting, where Mayor Baliles spoke about the core values of Rotary and the club’s vital role in the city.
"Rotarians provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through a fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders," Mayor Baliles read from the official Proclamation. |

The document also highlighted several of the Rotary Club’s contributions to Loganville, with special mention of the annual Wing Fling—a popular event that not only brings the community together in a fun, family-friendly environment but also raises significant funds for local charities and nonprofit organizations.
Over the years, the Loganville Rotary Club has been instrumental in organizing service projects, offering scholarships, supporting youth programs, and partnering with civic leaders to make a meaningful impact on the city. Club President Ray Lane expressed gratitude for the recognition, saying, “It’s an honor to be acknowledged by the city we work so hard to serve. This Proclamation is not just for the members here tonight, but for every Rotarian—past and present—who has contributed to making Loganville a better place.”
As the Loganville Rotary Club continues its mission of service above self, the City of Loganville’s recognition serves as a reminder of the power of community and the difference that dedicated individuals and organizations can make when they work together for the greater good. |
