Restaurant Review: Spice Wing Brings Big Flavor and Georgia Roots to Loganville |
From unforgettable Hot Honey Lemon Pepper wings to fried Oreos and chicken and waffles, this locally operated restaurant offers far more than the typical wing menu |

LOGANVILLE, GA — Loganville has no shortage of places to grab chicken wings, but Spice Wing offers a menu—and a story—that helps it stand apart.
Located at 4743 Atlanta Highway, Suite 180, Spice Wing recently welcomed Loganville News and Events for an extensive taste test featuring wings, appetizers, sides, desserts and even a first experience with chicken and waffles.
The result was an enthusiastic five-star review.
The meal began with an impressive assortment of appetizers. The macaroni and cheese bites delivered plenty of flavor, while the seasoned fries and mozzarella sticks were both well-cooked and satisfying.
The jalapeño poppers were another highlight. Filled with cheese and packed with flavor, they offered a great balance without overwhelming heat.
One of the biggest appetizer surprises was the corn bites. Slightly sweet with flavorful corn in the center, they proved to be an unexpected favorite. The sweet potato fries were also well-seasoned, while the fried pickles delivered exactly the crispy, tangy flavor fans of the appetizer expect.
Then came the funnel cake fries—which technically qualified as dessert but did not wait until the end of the meal.
“They were a great little dessert,” Loganville News and Events founder Ray Lane said during the review. “And I had them before I had the main food, so that’s even better.”
The wings take center stage
Of course, a restaurant called Spice Wing ultimately has to be judged by its wings.
Four flavors were sampled during the visit: Hot Honey, Mango Habanero, Lemon Pepper and Hot Honey Lemon Pepper.
The Hot Honey wings brought plenty of flavor without being excessively spicy. The Mango Habanero also offered a surprisingly approachable level of heat, making it an option even for customers who do not typically order extremely spicy food.
Lemon Pepper remains a familiar favorite, but the real standout of the visit was the Hot Honey Lemon Pepper.
The combination brought together sweetness, spice and the bright, savory flavor of lemon pepper in a way that was completely unexpected.
“This is something that I will probably get every time I come here because it is that good,” Ray said.
Among a table filled with memorable food, the Hot Honey Lemon Pepper wings were the clear winner—and one of the best wing flavors we have encountered.
More than wings
Spice Wing’s menu extends well beyond its signature item. The restaurant also served chicken and waffles, a popular Southern combination that was completely new to Ray.
“I had never had chicken and waffles before,” he admitted. “I got to try it out, and it was really, really good. This is definitely something I would get again.”
The restaurant was also offering a special featuring 10 wings and fries for $11.99 at the time of the visit, giving customers an affordable way to try the wings without committing to a massive order.
Dessert brought another first: deep-fried Oreos.
For anyone who already loves Oreos, covering them in batter and frying them might sound excessive. It also happens to be delicious. Warm, sweet and indulgent, the fried Oreos were one of the most memorable items served during the entire visit.
A Georgia success story
What many customers may not realize is that Spice Wing is not a national chain that simply decided to open restaurants in Georgia. The company was created here.
Spice Wing was founded in Georgia by entrepreneur Khushal Patel in 2016, with its first restaurant opening in 2017. Patel was only about 20 years old when that first location opened.
The original idea combined Patel’s love of chicken wings with flavors inspired by different parts of the world. That concept eventually developed into what the company describes as a “worldly wing experience,” with approximately 20 spice blends inspired by international cuisines.
Instead of offering only variations of traditional Buffalo sauce, the company expanded its menu with flavors such as Jamaican Jerk, Korean BBQ and Japanese Teriyaki alongside familiar American favorites.
The concept quickly gained attention. Industry reports say Spice Wing won the Taste of Suwanee Wing Competition three consecutive years.
Success at the original restaurant led the company to begin franchising in 2018. Spice Wing has since expanded beyond Georgia, with restaurants operating in states including Texas, Missouri and Alabama and additional locations announced for other markets.
Despite that growth, Loganville has been part of the Spice Wing story for years. The community was listed among the company’s early Georgia markets as far back as 2019, when Spice Wing was still concentrated in only a handful of locations.
Friendly service and a five-star experience
An extensive menu means very little without good execution, and the Loganville restaurant delivered throughout the visit.
The food was flavorful, the portions were generous and the people were welcoming and friendly. From familiar favorites such as mozzarella sticks and lemon pepper wings to surprises including corn bites, chicken and waffles and fried Oreos, Spice Wing offered an experience that encouraged exploration.
The visit ended with plenty of leftovers, several newly discovered favorites and a five-star rating for the Loganville restaurant.
For first-time customers, the Hot Honey Lemon Pepper wings are an essential order. Add the macaroni and cheese bites or jalapeño poppers, and save room for the fried Oreos—even if, like the funnel cake fries, dessert arrives before dinner.

Their specialty flavors are good but nothing beats classic lemon pepper for me. Just sayin.
Mac and cheese bites get me every time! My absolute favorite snack on their menu.
I don’t eat wings, but my friends do and the fries and appetizers make it worth the trip for me too.
Pamela R.Same here, Pamela. I end up just getting fries and sharing apps with everyone. Those mac n cheese bites alone are worth a visit!
Nice to see a review mention the friendly service. Always a reason I go back.
I usually just get the sampler platter. Gets you the best of everything, including fried oreos!
That’s a smart strategy! The sampler really does let you experience all the highlights (especially those unforgettable fried Oreos).
Spice Wing beat out everyone three times at Taste of Suwanee? That’s impressive to me.
It really is impressive, winning the Taste of Suwanee Wing Competition three years in a row says a lot about the quality and creativity at Spice Wing.
Honestly, wish they’d bring back the garlic parm flavor. Miss that one!

Not a big fan of sweet sauces on wings but my wife LOVES the Hot Honey. And I’ll admit, it’s growing on me.

So cool that they started out in Georgia. We need more businesses like this in Loganville.
I wish they had more vegetarian appetizers but those mozzarella sticks are winners every time.
We hear you on wanting more veggie options, but the mozzarella sticks are definitely standouts among the appetizers.
Never thought I’d say this but the fried pickles are my go-to. Try them if you haven’t.
Great recommendation, the fried pickles definitely delivered that classic crispy, tangy flavor when we tried them too.
The staff at Loganville location always makes me feel welcome. Real good people.
Funnel cake fries BEFORE the wings? That’s dangerous... But I’d do it!
Have to admit, I prefer their seasoned fries over the regular ones. Always crispy!
Love that they have flavors like Jamaican Jerk and Korean BBQ. Most wing places just do buffalo.
That variety really sets Spice Wing apart! The international flavors like Jamaican Jerk and Korean BBQ reflect the founder’s goal to offer a “worldly wing experience.”
I tried their Mango Habanero last month. It was actually not too spicy, just right!
Absolutely, the Mango Habanero was a pleasant surprise here too, just enough heat to keep things interesting without being overwhelming.
