Snellville, Ga. — Nov. 18, 2025 — Piedmont Eastside Medical Center and Piedmont Oncology have announced the addition of Sami Ali, M.D., a board-certified hematologist and medical oncologist, to their expanding cancer care team serving Gwinnett County.
Dr. Ali brings extensive experience in treating patients with lung cancer, colorectal cancer, blood disorders, and a wide range of other oncologic conditions. He joins Piedmont after eight years with The Oncology Institute in Los Angeles, where he provided comprehensive cancer care, created individualized treatment plans, and contributed to clinical research and quality improvement efforts.
“We’re excited to have Dr. Ali join our growing team,” said Larry Ebert, CEO of Piedmont Eastside. “Expanding quality cancer care in Gwinnett County is a top priority for Piedmont, and we’re grateful to have Dr. Ali’s expertise.”
Wally Curran, M.D., the Whitaker Endowed Chief of Piedmont Oncology, noted that Dr. Ali’s arrival marks a significant milestone. “Dr. Ali is our first Piedmont Oncology medical oncologist in Gwinnett County, and I know he will provide extraordinary care to all patients we will care for,” he said.
Dr. Ali earned his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean and completed both his internal medicine residency and his hematology/oncology fellowship at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.
