LOGANVILLE, Ga. — Two people were arrested following the execution of a search warrant at a Loganville residence that led to the discovery of large quantities of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and other narcotics, according to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
The search warrant was carried out on January 21, 2026, at a home on New Horizon Drive in Loganville as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation. Investigators reported finding approximately 450 grams of methamphetamine, about 20 grams of fentanyl, methadone pills, and a firearm inside the residence.
John Koldewey was arrested at the scene and faces multiple felony charges, including trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking fentanyl, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance (methadone), possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of drug-related objects, and crossing the guard line with drugs.
A second individual, Jennifer Weathers, was also taken into custody and charged with trafficking fentanyl, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance (methadone), and possession of drug-related objects.
Authorities stated that the quantity of narcotics seized meets Georgia’s legal threshold for trafficking charges. The presence of a firearm during the alleged drug activity resulted in additional charges for Koldewey, who investigators say is prohibited from possessing a weapon due to a prior felony conviction.
Both suspects were booked into the Walton County Jail. Bond information and court dates were not immediately released.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information related to drug activity in the area is encouraged to contact the Walton County Sheriff’s Office. |
