The Loganville Police Department has installed a new NarcX medication collection box in the department lobby, giving residents a secure and convenient way to dispose of unused, unwanted, or expired medications.

The collection box is now available to the public Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Loganville Police Department, located at:

605 Tom Brewer Road
Loganville, GA 30052

Police personnel will also be available to assist residents if needed.

The bright blue NarcX disposal unit allows community members to safely dispose of medications that may otherwise sit forgotten in medicine cabinets, potentially creating risks for accidental poisoning, misuse, or abuse.

According to the department, both pills and liquid medications can be safely deposited into the collection box, making the process quick, easy, and secure.

The disposal program is designed to help reduce prescription drug misuse while also protecting the environment by preventing medications from being flushed or improperly discarded.

The collection box accepts:

  • Prescription medications
  • Over-the-counter medications
  • Pet medications
  • Vitamins
  • Schedule II-V controlled substances lawfully possessed by users

However, several items are not accepted, including:

  • Illegal or illicit drugs
  • Hazardous materials
  • Batteries
  • Aerosol spray cans
  • Antacids
  • Needles, sharps, and syringes
  • Trash
  • Plastic or glass bottles and vials

The NarcX program has become increasingly popular with law enforcement agencies across the country as communities continue working to address prescription drug abuse and accidental overdoses.

By providing a year-round drop-off location, the Loganville Police Department is giving residents a simple way to clean out old medications safely without waiting for special drug take-back events.

Officials encourage residents to take advantage of the new service to safely remove expired or unneeded medications from their homes and help keep the community safer.
