LOGANVILLE, GA — Family, friends, and community members gathered Monday to honor the life of Kimberly Loveless Whaley, the 62-year-old Loganville woman and long-time CVS pharmacy employee who died after being shot in the store’s parking lot on November 14, 2025. As loved ones celebrated her life, authorities reported no new official updates on the case, including no released motive and no charges filed against the person of interest detained shortly after the shooting.
A Life Remembered
Whaley, remembered as a warm-spirited, dependable, and deeply kind presence at the Loganville CVS, worked at the store for seven years and was described by colleagues as a “beloved team member” who always greeted customers with genuine care. Born in 1963, she was known not only for her dedication to her work but also for her strong connection to family and friends.
A Celebration of Life service was held on Monday, November 24, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home and Dogwood Hill Crematory in Covington. Visitation began at 2:30 p.m., followed by the memorial service at 3 p.m.
Whaley's obituary highlighted her compassion, her steady presence within the community, and the impact she made on those who knew her. The funeral home also provided options for friends and supporters to send flowers or plant a memorial tree in her honor.
What Is Known About the Case
Whaley was shot in the head around 1:55 p.m. on November 14 outside the CVS on Atlanta Highway. She was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, where she later died from her injuries.
