Loganville 2025 Election Update

Two candidates enter the mayor’s race, six qualify for three at-large council seats in Loganville’s 2025 election

The field is now set for Loganville’s upcoming municipal election. When qualifying closed Wednesday, two candidates had stepped forward to run for mayor, and six candidates qualified for three at-large City Council seats.

 

Mayor’s Race
Current Councilman Branden Whitfield and community member John Soesbe will face off to succeed Mayor Skip Baliles, who is not seeking re-election. Whitfield chose not to run again for his council seat, opting instead to campaign for mayor.

 

City Council Race
Six candidates are vying for three open at-large seats:

  • Melanie Long (incumbent councilwoman)

  • Wesley Johnson

  • Toyin Wakil Olaoluwa

  • Joseph Bastian

  • Keith Colquitt

  • Joanne Byrne

 

Councilwoman Anne Huntsinger decided not to seek another term.

 

Important Voter Information

 

  • Voter Registration Deadline: October 6, 2025

  • Early Voting: Begins October 14, 2025

  • Election Day: November 4, 2025, polls open 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

  • Voting Locations:

    • Walton County voters cast ballots at their regular county precincts.

    • Gwinnett County voters cast ballots at the Rock Gym/Ag Building, 135 Main Street, Loganville, GA 30052.

 

This election will shape the leadership of Loganville for the next four years. Mark your calendars and make sure your voter registration is up to date so your voice is heard.
