LOGANVILLE, GA — Election season is now underway in Loganville, and residents have the opportunity to cast their vote early in the 2025 municipal race. Early voting begins Tuesday, Oct. 14 and continues through Friday, Oct. 31, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. Two additional Saturdays—Oct. 18 and Oct. 25—will also be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

During this period, voters may visit any of three permanent early voting locations in Walton County:

  • Felker Park Community Room, 725 S. Madison Ave, Monroe

  • Meridian Park, 105 Generation Blvd, Loganville

  • South Walton Community Room, 573 Fairplay Rd, Social Circle

Absentee ballot applications will be accepted through Oct. 24.

What Is at Stake

Loganville voters will elect:

  • One of two candidates for Mayor

  • Three at-large seats on City Council, chosen from a field of five qualified candidates

Key shifts in the race:

  • Councilwoman Anne Huntsinger declined to run for re-election

  • Councilman Branden Whitfield did not seek a council seat but instead qualified to run for mayor, challenging John Soesbe for the top job

  • For council, qualifying candidates include incumbent Melanie Long, Wesley Johnson, Toyin Wakil Olaoluwa, Joseph Bastian, and Keith Colquitt. Joanne Byrne also qualified initially but has since withdrawn.

Note: Byrne’s name may still appear on the official ballot, but votes cast for her will not count.

Sample Ballot & Voter Resources

A sample ballot for the City of Loganville Municipal Elections is available online. Be aware that, due to Byrne’s withdrawal, her name is moot and will not be tallied even if it remains printed.

For the full Walton County sample ballot and more details on absentee voting, visit the Elections & Registration section on Walton County’s website.

Recent Candidate Forum & Public Engagement

The Walton County Chamber of Commerce hosted a candidate forum on Oct. 8 at the Walton County Courthouse, featuring the Loganville municipal candidates.

A replay of the forum is available on YouTube for those who missed it live.

What to Know Before You Vote

  • Voters may cast an early ballot at any of the county’s early voting sites, regardless of their assigned precinct.

  • Photo ID is required when voting in person.

  • If you request an absentee ballot but later decide to vote in person, that absentee ballot must be canceled before you vote.

  • On Election Day, Nov. 4, polls will open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Why Early Voting Matters

Early voting offers flexibility—voters can avoid election-day crowds and choose a time that best fits their schedule. Because the municipal race hinges on only a few key positions, every vote carries significant weight.

Make your plan now: review the sample ballot, check which candidates you support, and know where you’ll vote. The early window gives you that extra buffer to make your voice heard.
