LOGANVILLE, GA — For most high school baseball programs, winning a state championship is the pinnacle of success.
For Loganville High School, it has become tradition.
The Loganville Red Devils once again climbed to the top of Georgia high school baseball, capturing the 2026 GHSA Class 5A State Championship in dramatic fashion and further solidifying the program’s place among the greatest dynasties in Georgia history.
In a championship series filled with tension, weather delays, momentum swings, and unforgettable moments, Loganville defeated Pope two games to one at Gwinnett Field in Lawrenceville to bring yet another state title home to Walton County.
And fittingly for a program built on toughness and resilience, the Red Devils refused to quit when everything appeared to be slipping away.
Down to their final two outs in the deciding game, Loganville rallied for an unforgettable 4-3 comeback victory to secure the championship. The game-winning moment instantly became part of Red Devils baseball lore, with tournament MVP Brantley Carter delivering the clutch hit that sealed the title.
It was the kind of championship moment that perfectly reflected what Loganville baseball has become over the past decade: relentless, disciplined, battle-tested, and impossible to count out.
The 2026 title gives Loganville an astonishing nine state baseball championships overall:
That is not simply sustained success.
That is dominance.
Over the last decade, Loganville has transformed from a respected program into one of the true powerhouses in Georgia high school baseball. Since 2017 alone, the Red Devils have won six state championships — an accomplishment few programs anywhere in the state can match.
Even more impressive is the consistency. Year after year, Loganville reloads. New stars emerge. Expectations remain sky high. And somehow, the program continues to deliver.
The Red Devils finished the 2026 season with a remarkable 34-4 overall record and a perfect 12-0 run through Region 8-AAAAA play. Throughout the season, Loganville showcased the formula that has defined the program’s dynasty years: elite pitching, disciplined defense, timely hitting, and the ability to perform under pressure.
Under head coach Bran Mills, Loganville has become synonymous with championship baseball in Georgia. Opposing teams know they are facing more than just talent when they see the Red Devils across the field. They are facing a culture — one built on accountability, preparation, toughness, and expectation.
And that culture stretches back years.
Long before the current streak of championships, Loganville baseball had already established itself as a respected program. But beginning with the 2017 state title, the Red Devils elevated themselves into rare territory.
Winning championships in 2017, 2018, and 2019 announced Loganville as a force. Capturing three more titles from 2022 through 2024 confirmed that this was no temporary run. Now, with the 2026 championship added to the trophy case, the Red Devils have firmly planted themselves among the elite programs in Georgia high school baseball history.
The numbers alone are staggering:
But beyond the statistics, Loganville baseball has become something even bigger for the community.
Every spring, Red Devils baseball unites Loganville. Families pack the stands. Former players return to support the next generation. Young athletes across Walton County dream of one day wearing the red and black. The program has become one of the defining identities of Loganville athletics and a source of enormous pride throughout the city.
Championships may fill the trophy case, but legacy is built through consistency, leadership, and culture.
That is what separates Loganville.
Dynasties are rare in any sport. Sustaining one in Georgia high school baseball — one of the toughest baseball states in America — is even rarer.
Yet somehow, year after year, the Red Devils continue to find themselves dogpiling on the field in celebration.
And now, in 2026, they are champions once again. |
