Discover the latest legal drama from Lori Duff - a must-read for fans of the Fischer at Law series! |

Loganville’s own Lori Duff is once again making headlines — this time in the literary world. The well-known attorney, judge, and award-winning author is preparing to launch the second full-length installment of her Fischer at Law series. The new novel, Devil’s Hand, will be released on October 7, 2025, following the success of last year’s hit Devil’s Defense.
While Duff has long been a familiar name in the community for her legal career and as a frequent columnist and blogger, she has also carved out a reputation in publishing. After releasing several collections of her writings and her first novella in 2023, Duff captivated readers with Devil’s Defense in November 2024 — a novel that quickly became a local favorite.
Now, she’s keeping the momentum going.
According to the official release, Devil’s Hand continues the story of attorney Jessica Fischer, who takes on a new client — domestic abuse survivor Susan Wolan. While Fischer is determined to help, she begins to suspect Susan is holding back dangerous secrets. At the same time, Fischer’s personal life takes a complicated turn when her estranged father suddenly reappears, raising family tensions — and even romance — that threaten to upend her world.
Readers can expect a mix of suspense, emotional depth, and the relatable humanity that has made Duff’s storytelling resonate with so many.
A book release party will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 2–4 p.m. at the Monroe Walton Center for the Arts, located at 205 S. Broad St. in Monroe. Community members are invited to attend, meet the author, and celebrate this exciting new release.
In the meantime, readers can pre-order Devil’s Hand on Amazon, or catch up on the series by purchasing the first book, Devil’s Defense, if they missed the beginning of Jessica Fischer’s journey. |
