Grayson High School standout Anthony Davis Jr. has officially made his college choice, announcing his verbal commitment to the University of Mississippi on Saturday. The highly sought-after linebacker from Loganville, Georgia, selected Lane Kiffin’s Rebels over powerhouse programs including Alabama, Michigan, and Auburn.
Listed at 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, Davis is rated as a four-star prospect on the 247Sports Composite. He ranks as the No. 30 linebacker nationally, the No. 47 player in Georgia, and the No. 432 overall recruit in the Class of 2026. His decision comes after an intense recruiting process in which he amassed scholarship offers from 51 schools.
Davis’ recruitment saw him take a whirlwind of official visits this summer — Auburn on May 30, Ole Miss on June 6, Michigan on June 13, and Alabama on June 20. Ultimately, Oxford won him over.
“Oxford, let’s do it. Natty on the way!” Davis told Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett, signaling his belief that the Rebels are on the path to a national championship.
With Davis’ pledge, Ole Miss now holds 16 verbal commitments in its 2026 recruiting class, solidifying its defensive depth for the future. Rebels fans eager to see what Davis will bring to the field can watch highlights from his impressive junior season, where he showcased speed, instincts, and an ability to disrupt plays at every level of the defense.
For Grayson, Davis’ commitment is another testament to the program’s ability to develop top-tier talent ready to shine on the national stage. |
