Loganville’s very own Stephen Kern—best known around town as a Special Needs bus driver—is hitting the big (streaming) screen with his first feature-length movie and it’s as wild and unpredictable as a metal solo in a windstorm.

Kern, a signed heavy metal artist and longtime Loganville resident, teamed up with his buddy Jacy Henry to write, direct, produce, and star in a low-budget, old-school slapstick comedy about a “manchild metalhead dork on a journey to find his daddy.” Along the way, the hilariously awkward hero runs into a cast of truly bizarre and unexpected characters—and yes, there are cameos.

Big Names, Big Laughs

Despite its DIY charm and raw energy, the film managed to score several surprising guest appearances, including:

  • Ronnie Platt, the current lead singer of the legendary rock band KANSAS

  • Donna Perry, a former Playboy Playmate from 1994

  • Eric Freeman, cult film actor known for Silent Night, Deadly Night 2

  • Plus several well-known names from the heavy metal world

  •

Adding even more flair, the movie trailer is voiced by Trevor Snarr, the actor who played Don in the cult classic Napoleon Dynamite.

Shot Right Here in Loganville

What makes this movie even more exciting for locals is that multiple scenes were filmed in and around Loganville. Locations include:

  • Stephen’s own RV

  • Crazy Eddie’s Flea Market

  • Allstar Music Center

  • Vines Park

  • Local residences owned by friends Tracy and Leticia, who also appear in the film

The project, shot entirely across various Georgia towns, is a celebration of grassroots filmmaking with a heavy dose of absurdity, friendship, and hometown pride.

Picked Up by Bayview Entertainment

The film has been acquired by Bayview Entertainment, a notable distributor of independent cinema. The official trailer is now live on their YouTube channel and already generating buzz for its bizarre, chaotic humor and impressive lineup of cameos.

You can catch the full movie when it streams on Plex TV starting August 26th. It’s expected to carry a TV-14 or Mature rating due to strong language—but there’s no graphic content or nudity, just pure, unfiltered goofiness.

So if you love Loganville, love metal, or just love movies that don’t take themselves seriously—you’ll definitely want to add this one to your watchlist.
