American Legion Post 233 Swears In New Leadership Team |
New officers outline a renewed vision focused on strengthening the Post, supporting local veterans, and expanding community involvement |

American Legion Post 233 in Loganville has sworn in a new team of officers and executive committee members who will guide the organization through its next chapter of service, growth, and community engagement.
Leading the Post as commander is “Military Mike” Madsen, who has outlined a three-part vision centered on strengthening the organization, improving support for veterans, and increasing the Legion’s visibility throughout the Loganville community.
Madsen said the first priority will be building a stronger and more connected Post by encouraging membership participation, improving communication, and creating an environment where every Legionnaire feels welcomed and valued.
The new leadership team plans to encourage greater attendance at meetings, provide more transparency in decision-making, and ensure members have opportunities to share ideas and take an active role in the Post’s future.
Supporting veterans will also remain at the heart of Post 233’s mission.
Many veterans continue to face challenges involving physical and mental health, VA claims, financial hardship, and isolation long after their military service has ended. Madsen said he wants the Post to serve as an active resource for those veterans, not simply as a gathering place.
Plans include strengthening partnerships with VA representatives, helping veterans better understand the benefits available to them, and increasing outreach to veterans who may not yet be connected with the American Legion.
The third part of the leadership team’s vision focuses on expanding Post 233’s role within the broader community. Leaders hope to increase participation in local events, schools, youth programs, patriotic activities, and veteran-support initiatives.
By becoming more visible and involved, the Post hopes to help residents better understand the American Legion’s mission while building relationships that will support the organization for years to come.
The newly installed officers are: Commander: “Military Mike” Madsen
The executive committee includes: Mike Burwell, Maintenance
With its new leadership in place, American Legion Post 233 is preparing to build on its legacy of service while creating a stronger, more active organization for veterans, members, and the Loganville community. |
